The Handweavers Guild of Boulder presents a Twined Rag Rugs Workshop with Bobbie Irwin

Help revive a disappearing folk art as you make a hot-pad sampler on a small frame, using fabric for both warp and weft. This sampler incorporates three pattern variations and gives you the expertise to make full-sized rugs. Twining makes extremely durable and beautiful rugs and requires only minimal equipment.

Experience: Children aged 9 and up welcome.  Suitable for all levels, and children age 9 or older are welcome. No twining or weaving experience is needed.

Class Size: Maximum of 12 for a 4-hour option

Equipment/Materials Provided by Participants: Weft fabrics, needles, thread, scissors, two safety pins, medium crochet hook, cutting mat & rotary cutter (can be shared); details supplied in advance.

Materials Fee: $10 for the frame (to keep) and warp fabric. Materials cost are paid to instructor with cash or check on the day of the workshop. A materials list will be supplied by email a month before the workshop.

Wearing masks for CVD mitigation will be decided by the workshop teacher in conjunction with all state and local laws and regulations.   Even if not required, the workshop leader may mandate mask wearing at all times.

Cancellation/Refund policy: Workshop fees are payable to HGB and due with the registration form. Refunds are made only if another or (wait list) person can fill your space.
If the workshop is cancelled by HGB, you will receive a full refund.

If you are not able to register online, click here to download the form. Processing may take 2-4 weeks for a mailed form.
