Past Made Present2024 HGB Fiber Art Show & Sale Juried Showcase Exhibit Theme Applications open September 1, 2024 - October 1, 2024
Juror: Anne Bossert |
2024 Showcase Juror Anne Bossert is a fiber artist, woodworker, and metal worker rolled up in one person. After completing a BFA in metalwork and jewelry at Northern Illinois University, she came to graduate school at Colorado State University, where she circuitously got into woodworking through working with textiles. As a weaver painting dye onto cotton warp threads, she learned that the same dyes can be used on wood (the dyes color anything that is a cellulose fiber,) and her first foray into combining fiber art and wood was a coffee table to contain her handwoven fabric, both of which she dyed in the same colors. She has continued to explore different ways of combining handwoven textiles, woodworking, and metal, and now has a workshop in Fort Collins. You can see some of her work at https://www.annebossertart.com/. Anne lives with her husband and Starla the cat in a mid-century ranch home they are renovating. |
