In-Person Workshop : English Paper Piecing with HGB member Isabel Suhr 

Please bring to the workshop:

This workshop will include all materials for making a Moravian star, but consider bringing these items from home:

• Scissors for cutting fabric and thread. We have a few pairs available, if necessary, but class will go faster with more pairs.
• Helpers for hand sewing, if you have any you commonly use (thimble, needle threader, magnifier, etc).
  
• Fabric for your star. We will have a variety of options you can pick from at the workshop, but if you have something specific in mind, feel free to bring your own."

Learn the traditional hand-sewing method of English paper piecing by making a   3-D Moravian star as a decor piece or to give as a gift. English paper piecers Isabel and Almeda will demonstrate the construction of a Moravian star and guide you through trying each part of the process. We will also show off some other things you can do with English paper piecing!

It generally takes 6-7 hours of sewing to complete a Moravian star, so we won't finish during the workshop, but we will make sure you have seen and practiced all the techniques you will need to finish at home.

• Time: 1 to 4 p.m.
• Location: Mountain View Methodist Church, Boulder, Room 215.  Entrance is through either main door of the church.  There is also a side entrance at the south end of the parking lot.

Prerequisites/Experience: None

Workshop fee: $55.  Online registration is open to the public.

Payment method is online only with a credit card. Registration must be paid online before attending the workshop.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop fees are payable to HGB and due with the registration form. Refunds are made only if another or (wait list) person can fill your space. If the workshop is canceled by HGB, you will receive a full refund.

Weather ALERT:

We will notify you by 11:30am on Feb 8 if the workshop is canceled due to weather conditions. 

Please email programs@handweaversofboulder.org if you feel you cannot attend the workshop because of weather conditions.  We will either schedule a make-up day or give you a refund.
